Favreau outdid himself with this seamlessly told tale – and how could he not with 007 as his lead and Han Solo in his back pocket? So let’s dive in to a bit about the film. Jake Lonergan, Daniel Craig, can’t remember who he is, all that he knows of his life before is what he wakes up with. This doesn’t fare well with the local businessman and tyrant Woodrow Dolarhyde, played by Harrison Ford, who has a long memory and a short fuse. However, all is not as it seems in the world anymore, when people start getting snatched by alien aircraft… and it is up to Jake to save them all.

It’s hard to fit Ella, Olivia Wilde, into this brief synopsis. She, however, definitely deserves mention. She gives our masculine hero’s a run for their money in her role and does so with even more strikingly blue eyes than Craig. It’s hard not to like her and all of the support characters, namely Sam Rockwell’s “Doc”. I love him when he’s not the bad guy and I wish he played those parts more often!

Cowboys and Aliens really has something for so many people. If you are a western fan, Sci-Fi fan, Ford, Craig, Favreau fan etc etc and so on… Very enjoyable to the very end!

It all begins with a kiss on the cheek, love that is, and what a sweet sentiment. Such a dynamic and hilarious cast is perfectly suited for each role in this film. Romantic Comedies may be trending again with fabulous films like this one coming out. I definitely think this is one worth breaking out the pocket book – and people of all ages can enjoy this one. My favorite relationship in the film wasn’t even that of a couple, but between the two male leads.

The premise: Cal and Emily are happily married with children, or so he thinks. Shocked, learning that Emily wants a divorce, Cal is forced to start again. Wandering aimlessly through life he stumbles into the life of Jacob, a fancy, high flying ladies man. Jacob, though half his age, adopts Cal as sort of a pet project to bring him back the confidence that he has lost along the way.

I’m always a fan of Steve Carell (40 Year Old Virgin, Date Night, Evan Almighty), playing the lead, Cal. Despite his affinity for dry humor, which there is plenty of, how he lets you into his world of hurt is truly great. We feel for him, we want for him to be ok, and we can still laugh hysterically at him. However, Hannah, played by Emma Stone (Zombieland, The Help, Easy A) may have stolen the show. Her role, a smaller one, a love interest of Jacob, (Ryan Gosling of Half Nelson, The Notebook) is so charming it’s hard to deny her and almost impossible to ignore her – and because of this she is such a rising star. Even with such talent, Cal and Emily’s son, Robbie, played by Jonah Bobo is one of the coolest characters I’ve seen in a long time.

This was quite an unexpected answer to the Romantic Comedy genre, but despite the name it was a truly loveable film. Speaking of the name, no this one is not for your children. There is a lot of nudity, suggestive talk, and some rather eye opening scenes. For the adults out there it, like many Romantic Comedies is a lot more than just it’s title.

Justin Timberlake is golden in his character Dylan. Portraying a guy who can’t seem to lose, gets the most beautiful girl, gets the dream job, and can’t seem to stop succeeding… just like his real life. It was very nostalgic for me to see him dancing and singing to Kris Kross’s Jump Jump as a throwback to his Mickey Mouse Club years! Now if you can’t tell, I’m not immune to the JT phenomenon, and if you are, there is still a ton to like about this film, like Tommy!

Who doesn’t want to see Woody Harrelson portray a gay sports writer? Some of his one-liners are quotable for years to come. This is seriously a great date movie, c’mon guys… take your girls out for this treat, you won’t be sorry.

As Elliott Maslow, another survivor of the plane crash, you find yourself waking up in the jungle just like Jack. Soon after you find Kate… that’s when you realize that you’re not playing as Jack, but as some other guy. The first half of the game is then dedicated to discovering your identity and proving that you’re not one of the others to the rest of flight 815′s survivors.

The controls are truly a bit wonky and at times counter intuitive, but in time you get used to them. As far as achievements go, you can gather up some gamer points pretty quickly with this one. In my case though, I didn’t want to spend time after completing it going back and searching out more achievements.

All in all it was fun. It has very frustrating moments, such as the fog monster and the pictures you need to snap to progress the story. I really just wish it was longer. I completed it in two sittings. If I had obtained 100% achievements it would have taken me another day or two. It was nice to revisit my lost characters. I miss the show and this added a nice element of being able to walk around their world.

What was unexpected was how moving the film was. It’s my new favorite film! Right up my alley. If you like Russell Brand you will love this film.

Let’s get into the nitty gritty of it. Arthur’s behavior, makes a very bad impression at the worst place and time. This causes his mother to give him an ultimatum for the future of her company. Either he weds Susan, an heiress in her own right, who is only looking for the status that comes with his last name, or he is cut off from the vast fortune he is so accustomed to. In a twist of events he randomly meets Naomi, a quirky tour guide with less ambition than her counterpart and a great sense of adventure.

Hobson, Arthur’s nanny, played by the beautiful and talented Helen Mirren, who is completely unforgettable in the role. She disapproves of his new relationship realizing that Arthur needs the wealth that he is accustomed to. But with another set of twist and turns the story really takes off and left me feeling energized. I can’t wait for this one to come out on DVD, but in the meantime I will be seeing it in theaters.

But Bethany is a survivor and a month after the event she was back in the water figuring out how to surf with a now altered body. Even with all of her courage and strength she had moments, told through the film, that she felt like giving up, but once she started traveling with her church and helping people in foreign lands (in many cases much worse off) she found her purpose. With my favorite line from the film and what I imagine to be her motto in life now, “I can embrace far more people with one arm than I could with two”.

Boy does she embrace you in this film. Not only do you want to walk out of the theatre with a sleek surfers body, bronze skin, and blond hair but you also want to remember that feeling, that you can do anything if you never give up.

This is a great story for any age and gender and can be quite inspirational to tweens and teens alike, the shark scene may frighten little ones into forgetting the purpose of the rest of the film. Helen Hunt was a particular bright spot in the film. Each actor did amazing work, but there was just something about her that stole the show – two armed and all. All in all though the story was told flawlessly and beautifully giving each viewer the sense that anything is possible.

It will mark the first installment of the main series on the Wii gaming console as well the first game on a Nintendo home console since 1992.

Not a whole lot is yet known, but it will be a Square Enix project led by all-star designers Yuji Horii(Dragon Warrior and Chrono Trigger), Akira Toriyama(Chrono Trigger and Dragon Ball Z), and Koichi Sugiyama(Dragon Warrior). Its rumored for a late 2011 or 2012 Japan release but it could be longer before its seen here in North America.

While this title comes with much anticipation and potential to revitalize the North American market, it, at the same time could spell disaster for the fledgeling series. DQ/DW has only enjoyed moderate success at best since its more hearalded NES days. Two games(Dragon Warrior VII and Dragon Quest VIII) have been released on the PS platform and three(Dragon Quest V, VI, IX) on the DS.

The Wii, with its motion sensing capabilities has potential to give a memorable experience, though I think we can agree the “swinging the remote like a sword thing” would wear quickly. Instead, maybe the remote could act as moving sensor, point, and your party goes, and/or it could be used for any number of puzzles the developers throw at us. I do know one thing, it would behoove them to offer up a traditional control set with a menu like all DQ/DW titles before it. I know they’re trying to appeal to a new generation, at the same time they don’t want to alienate their fanbase.

However, this game comes with quite a few surprises of it’s own. The best part has to be the storyline. Taking place in the year 2027 after a fictionalized history where the North Koreans take control over the U.S. With an intriguing story line and an incredible online co-op of up to 36 people, I was hoping for a bit more.

The single player story is only 6 chapters long. Even on the Guerilla setting it only took me 2 days – non full time gaming – to beat. (that’s saying something as I’m not a hot shot shooter player). Don’t get me wrong, the game can get under your skin. Taking me to the point of frustration over getting through a doorway because I kept getting shot by an unseen force! But all in all, the game was fun and noteworthy, but not something I want in my collection for the long haul.

However, with the popularity of DLC in the gaming world now Homefront still may surprise even me. We will have to see what comes next for them. More single player campaign modes, or more online maps? No one can really play online multiplayer on two maps with only two modes for beginners very long anyway. Hopefully Kaos Studios will hear the cries and bring more content for our $60 ticket.

What was once marketed as a drama/soap opera full of beautiful people with brilliant minds has become quite a joke. The best thing about the “Music Event” was that there are quite some wonderful and highly trained singers in the cast. Now, did they pull it off? Well, yes. I’d say they did. I can’t deny Sara Ramirez’s voice. If all she ever did was sing I wouldn’t complain. Now what was very right about the music filled mania was that they really used those that could sing and sing well, and left the others with specific lines, small parts, or harmonies.

I just keep going back to the fact that they made a musical out of the show! Why? I always figured they would find a way for Callie to sing, I just never expected it to be a spontaneous musical caused by a near-death-fly-through-a-windshield-brain-damage story.

Now if we can only get back to the plain old drama of Lexie in love with Mark who’s having a baby with Callie and Arizona her lesbian lover are going to raise it together nonsense, then life would all make sense again! I realize that the show is out there already, but isn’t there a line?
